EV Charging Stations in San Jose, California
Silicon Valley is the birthplace of Tesla and home to Apple, Google, and many other technology companies. So it’s no surprise electric vehicle ownership is strong in San Jose. As of March 2020, the city has approximately 605 public charging stations, 15 are free, and 10 new stations have been added in the last 90 days.
The city has a total of 132 DC Fast Chargers and 90 of these stations are Tesla Superchargers. While Tesla is located in nearby Fremont, San Jose doesn’t have a V3 Supercharger station — capable of 250 kW — but does offer EVgo and Electrify America DC fast charging stations and V2 Superchargers from Tesla. The
Bank of America at 155 Bernal Rd. in San Jose and the
Princeton Plaza Mall have the highest powered charging stations in San Jose with 150 kW coming from these units.
